The boys are after something a little more racy than our 'Lune Whammel':





 The Moonfish is a plywood/epoxy Sunfish clone.  The Sunfish isn't all that common here in the UK - the niche is mostly filled by the Laser 1.  I wasn't too keen on another fibreglass hull - hence the decision to build the Moonfish.  The first set of plans I purchased were lost in the move and, having ordered another set, it has taken a while to get the Bill of Materials together and clear the decks for this project to start.

Well today was Day 1.  The transom has been marked out and cut out:




 It is a small step ..... but a beginning !
Well, I'm afraid that it has been far too long since I last posted here.  Life (change of job, moving house, builders, etc) got very much in the way.

Rather than crawl through the remainder of my two kayak builds, suffice to say that I have built my two teenage boys each a different variant of Tom Yost's 'Sea Bee' design.

The first completed was the plywood skinned experiment:









The next was a true skin on frame, using cotton canvas impregnated with marine varnish as the skin:
